Welcome to the Arthritis Research UK-sponsored Risk Calculator Project. This research is in collaboration with the National Joint Registry, University of Sheffield and University of Bristol. This website contains links to example risk calculator websites that will assessed by the patient panel group. The feedback from the patient panel will be used to influence the design and information of the final risk calculator design.
The risk calculator will be used to support both patients and clinicians by providing an personalised risk assessment for hip and knee replacements prior to surgery. The tool will use data gathered from the patients and clinicians who undergo thousands of operations nationwide. The tool can be used to provide personalised information on the effects of surgery by answering a number of questions.
We have updated the two demonstration websites to integrate a knee prosthesis survivorship model.
Note: the below websites will no longer be maintained. Please see above for the latest website demonstrations.
A number of demonstration websites have been constructed for assessment by the patient panel groups and are available below:
Please note that the above demonstrations do not represent the final product and that the design is subject to change throughout the project.
The mathematical models will use the above proposed interfaces to predict a personalised risk score. Various methods for presenting the results are presented in a separate section and are accessible from the results section of the website.
